These Photos Say What Captive Elephants Can’t.

Elephants are intelligent, emotionally complex, and incredibly social nonhuman animals. Like us, they need and want to live freely. But because they lack the legal right to liberty, their freedom can be taken away from them for their entire lives. Held captive in zoos and circuses, elephants like our clients Happy and Minnie are confined to small, barren, unnatural environments where they are unable to socialize or roam. They often die prematurely as these facilities are unable to meet their behavioral, physical, or psychological needs. Never again should elephants have to suffer the loss of everything that matters to these magnificent beings. They deserve freedom.
