Katrina Sharman

Board Member

Katrina Sharman is a corporate lawyer with over 20 years experience advising on regulatory and compliance matters, particularly in emerging areas of law. Her career includes litigation, policy and executive leadership roles, including as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of high-growth technology companies in California. She is a Special Counsel at Piper Alderman, where she advises on fintech, payments, and digital assets.

Katrina played a formative role in pioneering animal law as a recognized legal discipline in Australia. As the first Corporate Counsel of Voiceless, the animal protection institute, she established and led its legal function and helped shape the development of animal protection law, policy and education. She has remained closely involved in its work as a long-standing member of the organization’s Board of Directors.

Katrina holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, and her work reflects a long-standing commitment to advancing systemic change through law across multiple jurisdictions.
